"Do you know what Angel Means? It means servant. In that way, I am an Angel." - The Man in the White Suit

A unremarkable man in a white suit.

Divinity

The Man in the White Suit, while yet to reveal his name, is a self-proclaimed angel given his definition of one.

Interaction with the Party

The man first appeared to the party individually in dreams giving each of them a sign.

Sergio

The Red Cardinal will tell you something. You must do it immediately.

Thaddeus

You must not stop the first person to insult the name of your God. In fact you must not this person from doing anything, and you must not run away from him, and none of your friends may interfere with him.

David

Someone will offer you the power to return to your family. You must refuse it.

Each sign was followed by the same quote:

There are three signs given, one to each of you. You must keep them to yourself, and not share them with each other. I cannot promise you will be safe if you follow the signs. I cannot even tell you why you are given them, but understanding is not a prerequisite for obedience. But I can promise that if you do follow them you will find what you're looking for, even if you didn't know you were looking for it.

Prophet

He appeared to emperor Valerian (not in a dream) claiming to be a prophet, and told him that three men would visit him soon, and one of them would be from another world. If he would task them, and only them, with defeating the Lich they would succeed. Valerian only heeded his words because no one else had known that Valerian was planning on killing the Lich, though he did have backup plans in case the man was lying, and the party did not succeed.

A Place for Rest for Pilgrims

He appeared to the party for a final time directly after they killed the Lich. The party was whisked away to a garden floating in the sky. There he met them and answered some of their questions. Upon sending them back to The Empire he claimed they would never see him again, but left them with one final sign:

"Beware the man with the limp."

Visions

He appeared to Setsuko in a vision telling her to repent and believe when he and an detachment of Angels from David's world protected them from the Formians while they slept (see Setsuko for more info.).

He appeared to her again later in a dream warning her of hell and again told her to repent and believe (see Setsuko for more info.).

Prophet's Return

He appeared to Valerian again in order to gain David an ally in his finial fight (see Valerian Mengsk for more info.).

He appeared to Setsuko in order to gain David an ally in his finial fight (see Setsuko for more info.)

Revelation

After David's return to his world, the man in the white suit appeared to David, as a doctor, and saved him from Kaizer (see Kaizer Soze for more info.). He then answered all of David's questions.

He told David that 'The Author' had chosen him to carry out His will in the other world. 'The Author' brought David over to stop the Lich's plans, and allow Angels from David's world to go into the other. David wondered what good had been done, since Anub'rekhan lived. The man in the white suit responded that David of all people knows that no man, no matter what claim to immortality he thinks he has, can evade 'The Author's' wrath, and that David's actions had made a world of difference.

He told David that 'The Author' does not disobey his own law he puts down, just as he couldn't freely pardon sinners, but had to send his son. He had put down a law that angels from David's world could not interact with anyone from the other world. When David had been taken to the other world it had opened a sort-of loophole - since David was a man from their world, angels from David's world could come over to that world and interact with David and other denizens in it. 'The Author' brought over several of his angels to that world, including the man in the white, and had them serve him there. But fallen angels from David's world crossed over as well, but without 'The Author's' permission. For doing this they were cursed with physical forms that reflected the individual demon, but they retained their mortality. But with David's return to his world, the destroyer (sometimes referred to as the angel of death), slew each of the demons banishing them back to their original world (David's).

With all of David's questions answered, he left finally introducing himself to David, telling him his name - Gabriel.
